How have you set the anticipated savings level?
During our site survey, we note the factors we know affect efficiency, analyse
your current energy use and compare it against best practice models. The
difference is the anticipated savings level (as a % of the current energy use).
Why is the guaranteed savings level less than the anticipated savings?
We know our solutions work and we are happy to guarantee them however, sometimes
exactly how you use you building is difficult to predict. Therefore the level
of saving we can guarantee is less than the savings we anticipate. The idea of
the guarantee is to provide peace of mind. The guaranteed savings level is the
minimum you can expect to save.
What is the ‘base year’?
The ‘base year’ is the twelve months immediately preceding installation of our
system.
What is guaranteed?
Because the cost per kWh of energy could fluctuate in the period, our guarantee
relates to the kWh’s consumed and not the cost of the bill. We guarantee in
each year to reduce the kWh’s consumed by the guaranteed saving level (when
compared to the ‘base year’ consumption).
How long does the guarantee last?
Throughout the initial term of the hire agreement – normally 5 years.
What happens if the guaranteed savings are not achieved in the first year?
Depending on any shortfall, you could get as much as every penny of the hire fee
back. You also have the option to ask us to remove the system, reinstate your
building to its original state and terminate the hire agreement without
penalty.
How does the guarantee vary after the first year?
If savings are not maintained, you have the right to terminate the hire
agreement without penalty, and to ask us to remove the system. No cash refund
applies.
Will you actually pay out?
Yes. saveenergyonline is part of the
multi-national ENER.G Group. We pride ourselves on the service we provide to
our customers and you can rest assured that if we need to pay out we will do so
promptly and without argument.
OUR GUARANTEED ENERGY SAVINGS AGREEMENT
Our agreement avoids the need for you to find the capital to invest up front.
Instead we fund the capital investment and you see the cash benefits from day
one. Unlike leasing you have a direct contractual relationship with the
supplier and not a third party finance company. The system is also fully
maintained by saveenergyonline: – including
24hr remote monitoring and modem support – system upgrades – if software needs
upgrading all costs are included – active energy management – education –
informing staff on what is happening and why – total peace of mind
While we have tried to keep our hire agreement simple there are often questions:
How long is the agreement?
Normally 5 years.
What happens if I want to terminate the agreement early?
Unless you are terminating under the terms of our savings guarantee you remain
liable for the remaining period of the agreement. No additional penalties are
levied. If you move premises we normally allow you to assign the agreement to
the incoming owner or tenant however you remain liable until we have agreed to
this change.
What happens after 5 years?
Nothing, unless you wish to terminate the agreement, in which case you must give
us three months notice. Notice must be given prior to the agreement’s
anniversary date.
Does the equipment become mine at any time?
No. The equipment is always the property of saveenergyonline.
The hire agreement does not include a right to buy. Of course, if you prefer to
buy rather than to hire a system we will be happy to provide a purchase price.
Why must I pay by direct debit?
Similar to most hire and lease companies we normally require payment by direct
debit. However, we will also accept a standing order. Any direct debit payments
are safeguarded by the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme. VAT invoices are
submitted to cover all direct debit payments.
If I save more than saveenergyonline anticipated will you increase your fee?
No. Unlike some of our competitors, we let you keep any extra money that has
been saved.
